Gloria Lorraine Gallaher Sherwood, 97, of Arlington, WA passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on March 6, 2024 surrounded by her children. Gloria was the matriarch of our very large tight knit Gallaher and Sherwood families. Gloria grew up in the Seattle area, a place she loved and never left. Gloria worked at Marine Technology of Seattle Community College for 15 years and in her spare time sang with Sweet Adelines, enjoyed traveling and cruising, and most of all looked forward to large family gatherings. Gloria will be dearly missed by many, and always remembered.

Gloria was predeceased by her father and mother William & Ruth, stepmother Hazel, brothers William (Billy) and Gary, sister Ruth (Lorna), brother-in-law William (Bill), son-in-law Tom, daughter-in-law Lynn, and husband Howard (Gene). As Gloria lived a very long life she experienced the loss of close Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and family friends. Gloria is survived by her children Darlyn, Karen, Darrell, Kevin (Karen), and Cindy (Rick). Her legacy includes 17 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family friends too. As a great matriarch would, she took a personal interest in every individual and had a way of making each one of us feel special. She also remembered every birthday and we mean every birthday, without the use of a smart phone.

The entire family and extended family lost one of the greatest humans on this planet March 6th, 2024. Gloria Lorraine Gallaher Sherwood has left an amazing forever legacy as she is escorted into the gates of heaven.
