Gloria Marie Klett Arentzen was born May 23, 1933 and died November 4, 2014. She was born at home in the Cedarhome area of Stanwood to Josie (Pederson) Klett and Clifford Klett. Attending was Dr. Greer and her grandmothers, Marie (Olausen) Klett and Loti (Strangeland) Pederson.
Gloria was raised in Cedarhome attending local schools, graduating from Twin City High in 1951, attended Everett Junior college and graduated from Mt. Vernon Beauty School. On June 12, 1953 she married Robert Arentzen at Freeborn Lutheran Church. They continued to reside in the Stanwood area, raising their family. As Dana and Michael were growing up she volunteered at Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and CampFire. In 1978 she went to full time work as Bookkeeper for Stanwood Camano News. She and Bob spent many vacations in Maui, HI, and after retiring spending a few winter months in Mesa AZ. She had been baptized and was confirmed at Freeborn. At the time of death she was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran.
Gloria is survived by husband Robert of 61 years; daughter Dana Arentzen of Stanwood; son Michael of Alaska; 2 granddaughters Allison Glantz and Marlene Bello Arentzen; 4 great grandchildren, Christian, Tyler, Matthew, and Chloe Glantz, all of Stanwood; sister and brother-in-law Ilene and Ray Armintrout of Everett; brother and sister-in-law Dean and Carrol Klett of King City, OR; sister-in-law Roxie Klett of Inyoken, CA; sister-in-law Elly Arentzen of Edmonds, WA; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family was important to Gloria and she was grateful for the many years she had her parents and the many family get-togethers over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, a brother Dr. Hubert Klett, a nephew Gary Klett, and brother-in-law Jerry Arentzen.
A memorial service will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 11:00am. Private family inurnment will be held at the Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery.
