IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gladys Mae
Teslow
February 25, 1923 – August 19, 2022
Our dear mother Gladys Mae Teslow sadly passed away on August 19, 2022 at the age of 99 after a long and happy life. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her.
Gladys was born in Port Angeles, WA, to Leopold Fabian and Anna Gallacci Fabian on February 25, 1923. She was raised in Seattle, having attended the old Cascade Grade School south of Lake Union, Broadway High School (class of 42) and Seattle College (now Seattle University). Her generation loved to dance and met at all the places like Trianon Ballroom, Spanish Castle, Swedish Club, Shady & Juanita Beaches, Bert Lindgrens and it was at a Sunday dance at Lake Wilderness she met her true love, Leonard Teslow. When he returned from Europe after WWII, they married at the iconic Immanuel Lutheran Church near Lake Union on March 31, 1946. Their first home was in Ballard where they were blessed with three children. Because they loved the sun, they lived in Moses Lake, Kennewick and spent years in San Diego where they retired. They moved back to the Pacific Northwest and settled on the golf course at Camaloch on Camano Island in 1989 where Gladys continued to live until her death. She was golfing until her 97 th year.
She also had many friends and was a well-loved member of the Camano Island community. She served as a volunteer at the Second Chance Thrift Shop for many years and was Volunteer of the Year one year. She was a member of the Fire Jets and thoroughly enjoyed her card-playing young friends and people of the community. She was predeceased by her mother, Ann, and husband Leonard; and is survived by son, Jim Teslow (Julie), daughter Linda Buntin (Skip, Marci, Jeff), daughter Lori Williams (Michael, Lydia, Joey), and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She and Leonard loved golf and were active members of the Camaloch Golf Club for over 30 years. She liked to remind people she had four official holes-in-one.
Viewing will be held Thursday, August 25 th , 2022 from 3:00pm until 5:00pm at Gilbertson Funeral Home in Stanwood.
A private interment will be held prior to the funeral services Friday, August 26, 2022. The funeral service and reception to celebrate her life will begin at 12:30pm at Camano Lutheran Church, 850 Heichel Road, Camano Island, 360-629-4592. Masks are encouraged during the service.
The Camano Center was dear to Mom's heart. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the center camanocenter.org/donate.
