IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary Bruce
Norman
August 16, 1938 – November 11, 2025
Gary Bruce Norman, 87, of Camano Island, WA, passed away in Chandler, AZ on November 11, 2025.
He was born to Arthur O. and Kathryn I. Norman in Seattle, was raised in Arlington, and graduated from Arlington High School and Western Washington University in Bellingham. He dedicated 40 years to the United States Department of Agriculture as a Food Inspector, a career that took him to California for a number of years, but he eventually made it back to his beloved Washington where he built his dream home on Camano Island in retirement.
Outside of work, Gary was happiest fishing, hunting, crabbing, shrimping, and clamming. He also enjoyed square dancing, social gatherings, and meeting new people - Gary never knew a stranger, and his warm, easy-going personality made people feel welcome.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur O. and Kathryn I. Norman. Gary is survived by his brother Robert Norman (Carolyn) also of Camano Island; his three daughters in Arizona - Jodi Knudson, Cindy Spires and Wendy Johnson (Douglas); his step-daughter Sarah Minnis (Kelly) of North Carolina; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church on Camano Island, WA on December 20, 2025 at 11:00 am with a reception to follow at the Camano Senior Citizen Center.
