Evonne Haskins

Evonne Haskins of Everett, Washington passed peacefully into the presence of her Savior and was reunited with her beloved husband, Dennis, on September 12, 2026, at the age of 78. She was born on August 23rd, 1948 in Everett, Washington, to Harry and Esther Worrell.

Evonne grew up in Everett while experiencing countless memories spent on the family dairy farm in Stanwood. After graduating from Everett High School, she worked at Bud’s Diner, where she met Dennis, who worked for her dad at the nearby Harry’s Chevron. Evonne and Dennis married on January 12, 1968, in Everett, where they remained while raising their three sons. She joined the Everett School District and served in multiple roles at Hawthorne Elementary to stay close to her kids but also became the school mom to countless children during her years at Hawthorne until retirement.

Evonne loved spending her time camping, enjoying nature, bird watching, tending to her numerous backyard flowers and beachcombing at the ocean for any good shell she could find, sand dollars being her favorite. Above all, though, Evonne loved spending time with her family and friends. Her home was THE gathering place while hosting birthdays and holiday gatherings for immediate and extended family as well as numerous friends, all of whom were loved as family.

Later in life, she moved to Camano Island where she found a new community. On Camano, she enjoyed hopping on the bus to go volunteer at Camano Center’s Friends Club as well as participate in exercise class, making numerous new friends along the way. Evonne could hardly go anywhere in Stanwood or Camano Island without bumping into someone she knew. She also loved regularly watching Seahawks and Mariners games at home.

Evonne is survived by her children, Mike, Jeff (Zoe) and Tim (Beth); grandchildren, Jordan, Olivia (Luis) and Grace (Dylan); brother, Roger (Janet) Worrell; nieces, Christy Worrell and Jessie (Kevin) Menkens; grandniece, Neva Menkens; grandnephews, Rynning Worrell and Hatcher Menkens.

A graveside service will be held at Cedarhome Cemetery in Stanwood on Saturday, October 3rd at 11:00am. There will be a reception immediately following on Camano Island. In lieu of flowers, Evonne would love if you would make a donation to Camano Friends Club - (https://camanocenter.org/donate/)
