Eula Marie Jones was born on December 2nd, 1936, to Frank and Loleta Jones on their ranch in Wauconda, Washington. She rode the family horse to the one room schoolhouse until she started taking the bus into Tonasket for high school. There she met her first love, Art Bassett. They were married in 1953 before he was shipped by the Army to Korea for two years. She then lived at home and graduated from Tonasket High School in 1955. After high school she moved to Spokane and got a job as a bank teller at Seattle First National Bank while living at the YWCA until her husband returned. In 1957 her only daughter, Robin, was born. Then in 1963, the family moved to Auburn. She continued working at the bank full and part time until she retired. In 1987 and 1989, she became a grandmother. Both Mitchell and Bradley became the light of her life. In 1993, Art passed away, leaving her broken hearted. She lived on and sometime later met her second love, Robert (Bob) Olsen. Together, they moved to Lake Stevens. They married in 1999. During these years she became a cancer survivor. When Bob retired, they moved to Mount Vernon into a 55 and older community. They made many wonderful trips in their motor home. In 2019 her Great-granddaughter Lilian was born. Together with Bob she had three other grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, and Katie. These three then gave them 10 Great-grandchildren. She lived in their home until June of 2025 when she moved to an adult family home in Stanwood. Her health and memory sadly were declining. The last year of her life was filled with wonderful caregivers who learned to love her as much as her family does. She was a woman who was so loved and who returned that love to family and friends. She will leave a hole in all our hearts.
