Obituary

Emily Sue Walters

October 9, 1934 – April 17, 2018

Emily "Sue" passed away peacefully at her Camano Island home on April 17th.  Sue was born in Muskogee Oklahoma to Morris and Helen Talburt.  She was the middle of 5 children.  Sue graduated from Northeastern College in Tahlequah, OK with a Bachelor's Degree in elementary education.  While attending college she met her husband Charles.  They married in 1957; together they started a 60-year journey that took them to teaching positions in Kayenta, AZ, Okanogan, WA, San Miguel de Allende Mexico and Wenatchee, WA.  In 1989 they retired to Camano Island, WA.  Sue made many friends on Camano Island through church and volunteering at the American Legion hall.  She had a sense of humor and quick wit that kept family and friends laughing.  She especially enjoyed birthday lunch dates with her close friends.

Sue is survived by her 4 children Susan (Ted) Smith, John Walters, LeAnn (Cliff) Kravik and Rick (Sheila) Walters, her seven grandchildren: Sara, Amy, Kjersti, Justin, Roger, Jessica and Trevor and her 4 great grandchildren: Damian, Adin, Elianna and Nathen.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to the American Legion Post 207 Camano Island.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial celebration for Sue on Sunday May 27th from 1-4 at the family home on Camano Island.
