Elton Lee Eilert was born on March 18, 1928 in Orange, California to Lee Ira & Bessie Eilert.
Elton graduated Santa Ana High School, then graduated at the University of Santa Barbara. He continued his education at the Loyola University, graduated and passed the California Bar Exam.
He worked for several companies, some of them which include Rheem, Sambo's and the Knudsen Corporation. He and his wife moved to Santa Barbara where he was Attorney at Law, sole proprietor.
In 1984 he moved to Redmond, WA with his wife and worked as the Washington State Ferries arbitrator until he retired.
Elton was a scholar and loved reading history and geography. He had a passion for boating and enjoyed their boat while living on the waterfront in Shelter Bay, La Conner, Wa. He served in the US Army.
On February 14, 1952 he married Johnette Helen Galbraith and they just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. He loved his family very much and treasured our family dinners and gatherings. He first and foremost loved his wife. They lived his last eight years in Lynden, Wa.
Elton is survived by his wife Johnette Helene Eilert; daughter Sheri L. Strobaugh and son-in-law William P. Strobaugh of Conway, Wa.; and son John S. Eilert of Moses Lake, Wa. He has seven grandchildren, Brandon W. Strobaugh of Conway, Wa., Sarah L. Mehlem of Conway, Wa., Nicholas B. Strobaugh of Portland, Or., Amy L. Stoddard of Stanwood, Wa., Kelly N. Eilert of San Diego, Ca., Jason Gustus of Salinas, Ca., and Steven Smallwood of Moses Lake, Wa.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lee & Bessie Eilert, sister Audrey Eilert, son David L. Eilert, and granddaughter Krissy L. Strobaugh.
A graveside service will be held Monday, March 16, 2015 at 12:30pm at the Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue, Wa.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and anyone who knew him was truly blessed.
