IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth Ann
Sandberg
October 22, 1947 – June 5, 2018
Elizabeth Ann Sandberg, 70 of Camano Island Washington passed away peacefully at home on June 5th 2018 in the presence of her husband Doug.
Elizabeth (Liz) was born in Roseburg Oregon October 27th, 1947 to parents Sue and Orvis Larson. She graduated High School in Moses Lake Washington and continued her education in community college classes. Liz had a keen ability for understanding mechanical engineering. Liz attributed this to her brother Orland teaching her how things worked and her step father Papa C's gas station. Later Liz came to Everett and took a placement exam to hire on at Boeing and they accepted her. Liz worked on RA001 the first 747 and watched the concrete being poured ahead of the airplane as the factory wasn't done yet. Had Liz not moved out of the area and stayed on the program she would have been recognized as one of the "Boeing Incredibles "but her current husband had a better job offer elsewhere. She also worked on the L1011 Lockheed when the change of location occurred. Liz wanted to be a research Librarian because she enjoyed exploring new things and loved the printed word but never found the time to support this.
Liz was an animal lover too as you see in the picture Liz is holding Merlyn our little boy poodle. She helped me manage a heard of African Boer Goats that grew to twenty in number. They're wonderful animals. Liz would say to me "you've been out there playing with that smelly old buck haven't you?" Then she'd laugh and say "go change those clothes so I can wash them". Liz also had interests in wood crafting and jewelry making. Her best quality though was being my wife. We put each other first. Always and each night we said we love you. Liz became interested in Amateur Radio and obtained a Technician's license and her call sign was KE7MHE and is now a silent key.
Liz was preceded in death by her Mother Sue Dyckman and her step Father Cecil Dyckman. She is survived by her husband of 23 years Douglas Henning Sandberg, Brother Orland and Marilyn Larson of West Richland wa, Sharon Carlson sister in law and Corky Carlson of Arlington and nieces Terra and Lisa and Nephew Ty. Brother in Law Bob Sandberg and Nephews/wife's Shawn and Daniel Sandberg, Christopher and Kelley Sandberg.
Close friends of support, Laura and Margot Royal of Cloverdale California, David and Kim Fields of Seaside Oregon, Barb Galley, Joe and Carol Thomas, Debbie and Terry Seay, and Katherine
Consideration of their outstanding/loving support we ask any donations in the memory of Liz to go to Hospice of the NW located in Mount Vernon WA.
