Obituary

Elinor Robinson Lindbeck, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at Providence Hospital. Everett on August 16, 2014 due to complications following a fall. She was 92 years old.

Elinor, daughter of Bert and Maymie Robinson, was born and raised in Mount Vernon. She was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School. Elinor met her soul-mate, Harry Lindbeck at Juniper Beach on Camano Island. They married in 1940 and enjoyed 66 years of togetherness before his death in 2007. Without her organizational skills, Harry would never have known which venue he was supposed to play in on which day.

Elinor and Harry were partners in many endeavors. She was instrumental in the development of the furniture and gift departments at Bert Robinson Hardware Store. At the same time she was the organizational force behind the success of the Seven Cedars Dance Pavilion, a popular venue in the50's and 60's. Many life-long friendships were formed with the business associates they encountered. Elinor and Harry formed another partnership building Armstrong Homes in Skagit, Snohomish and Island Counties. Together they created and designed custom homes. Elinor's specialty was meeting the clients to assist with the interior design. She knew how to turn a house into a home. For a number of years she enjoyed working in her daughter's Uff Da Shop, meeting people from all over the world and talking to people who danced to her husband's music.

In what spare time she had, Elinor greatly enjoyed playing Bridge; she was a life-long member of several clubs and a much sought after partner. She also volunteered for many years at Skagit Valley Hospital and her 30 years of service was recognized as one of long standing commitment. She was also very involved with the Seattle Children's Hospital Guild.

She is survived by daughters Sharry Brown (Richard) and Sandi Lindbeck, grandson Michael Brown (Amy), granddaughter Amy Brown, great grandson Keller Brown, great granddaughter Hailey Brown, sister Carol (Jordan), nieces Kelly Lindsey and Polly, cousins Bud and Katie Egbers, Stan Boreson (Barbara) and many loving friends.

A private family graveside service will be held Sunday, August 24th, 2014, at Anderson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation, the Skagit Hospice Foundation or the charity of your choice.

Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood.
