IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Douglas Fremont
Pesznecker
July 9, 1930 – September 22, 2018
Douglas Fremont Pesznecker, of Warm Beach (formerly of Lopez) peacefully went to be with His Beloved Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 22, 2018 in Marysville, WA. He was 88. Doug was born in Vancouver, WA July 9, 1930 to Joseph and Margaret Pesznecker. After graduation from Vancouver High school, Doug attended Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland where he met Doris Miner, whom he married September 6, 1953.
Doug worked as a landscaper and mail carrier in Seattle before he became a Washington State Park Ranger. He worked at Dash Point, Lake Sammamish, and Moran State Parks (Orcas Island '65-'70) before becoming Head Ranger at Spencer Spit State Park on Lopez Island - which he designed and managed until his retirement in '89. He and Doris bought undeveloped property next to the Park where they retired until moving to Warm Beach for health reasons.
Doug became a Christian as a teenager and he joyfully served the Lord in churches, camps, teaching Sunday School, as deacon, elder, or preacher. He also served the needs of the community; establishing the EMT program for the Lopez Fire Department, 26 years on the State Parks and Recreation Commission, and a faithful Lion's Club member.
Doug loved music and had a strong tenor voice. He sang in his college quartet, church choirs, and led singing. He was a faithful Bible student and teacher; being absolutely committed to its being the inspired Word of God. He also loved building, woodworking, gardening, and whatever his hands found to do.
Doug was preceded in death by his wife Doris ('13), next to whom he was laid to rest in a private family interment Sept.26th at Anderson Cemetery in Stanwood. Doug is survived by brothers Wally of Bellevue and David of Snohomish, a sister Shirley Hayer of Spokane, a daughter Jan Culton of Williams, OR, a son Jeff of Warm Beach, 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 27th at the Warm Beach Campus of Lifechurch360 - 9620 188th St. NW. If you plan to attend, please text or call Jeff; 360-652-7429.
