Dorothy "Dolly" Klansnic Berard passed away peacefully in her Camano Island home on April 18th.  Dolly was born in Wenatchee, WA to Joseph Klansnic and Helen Manowski Klansnic in 1922, the youngest of eight children.  Upon graduating from high school, at 16 years old, she moved to Seattle and graduated from Seattle College (University), where she met her future husband.  She received her nursing degree and joined the US Army. She was one of five siblings who served in WWII.  She married William"Bill" Peter Berard, M.D in 1947. They raised their three kids on Capitol Hill in Seattle, then retired to Camano Island where they loved being near the water. Dolly loved gardening and feeding all the many and assorted birds. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986.  She is survived by her three children Pete (Margie) Berard, Mary Mohr (Dale) and Theresa Fedora; her five grandchildren Jenny Richmond (Jason), Bill (Teresa), Colleen, Molly Berard, and TJ Fedora, and her five great-grandchildren:  Colton, Carson & Maggie Richmond and Piper & Daisy Berard.   In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Human Life of Washington. www.humanlife.net or St. Cecilia Catholic Church: PO Box 1002, Stanwood, 98292 .   Please go to gilbertsonfh.com to sign her guestbook.
