Obituary

Donald Lee Hundley Passed away at home on Camano Island on March 16, 2017 after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 years.
Donald was born on October 15, 1929 in Anacortes, WA to Oliver and Malene Hundley. He graduated from Everett high School in 1949 and then attended Western WA College of Education in Bellingham.
He served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1952-1954. When he came home from Korea he and Lois were married. He finished College and graduated with a Master of Education degree and his principal credentials. He coached high school football and taught social Studies for 20 years. Then he was able to fulfill his dream of starting a family business in wood working on Camano Island, where the family enjoyed working with him. He had two Manufacturing business areas and a retail store until he retired 25 years later. He also enjoyed painting as a hobby. Donald is preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers Vernon and Robert and nephew David. Donald is survived by his wife Lois. They enjoyed 61 years together. Also his 5 children; Carolyn of Camano Island, Ron (Kelly) of Stanwood, Roger (Vikki) of Camano Island Randy of Sedro Woolley and Cathy of Camano Island, granddaughters; Trinity and Magdelina, sister-in-law Darlene Hundley of Marysville and many nieces and nephews. There will be a private Family service The family would like to thank Hospice for their care and support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Northwest at 227 Freeway drive, Suite A, Mount Vernon, WA 98273. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood.
