Dan joined the U.S Army in 1963 and served his country for 24 years as a facilities engineer, retiring as a 1SG in January 1988.
While serving in Germany, Dan met and married his first wife Christina M Hansen-Fry and had two children, Annaliesa Lorraine Fry-Carter (1967) and James Allen Fry II (1971); they were divorced in 1981. While he was stationed at Ft. Leonard-Wood, MO, Dan met and married his second wife, Debbie Timberlake-Fry, in January, 1984.
After retirement from the military, Dan focused on becoming an EMT and then a paramedic and served with several ambulance companies in this capacity (Stanwood and Tacoma). He was a registered boat captain and worked for Vessel Assist rescuing those stranded on the water. In his later years, he took great pride in becoming a pilot driver for his son's business TRAXX Equipment LLC.
Dan was a true adventurer and enjoyed many years of camping, hiking, road tripping, downhill skiing, scuba diving (he was a master diver and instructor), visiting national parks across the US, and most recently, riding ATV trails hither and yon.
Dan was predeceased by his parents, Jim & Arlis Fry. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debbie; daughter, Annaliesa Fry-Carter (Daniel); son James Allen Fry II (Kristi). Three siblings, Jan Aukland (Stan); James Fry (Linda) and Jeannie Yocum (Glenn). Seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In honoring Dan's wishes, he was cremated. A celebration of Dan's life will be planned by the family at a later date.
