S De Laurentis
December 4, 1946 – January 21, 2018
"Corky" William S. De Laurentis, age 71, of Camano Island, WA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2018, with his wife at his side, after struggling several years with Parkinson's disease.
Corky was born on December 4, 1946 in Oakland, CA. The son of the late William F. De Laurentis and Helen Jenkins De Laurentis. He was raised in Coronado, CA and graduated from Coronado High School. Corky then went on to graduate from United States International University, CAL Western, Pt. Loma, CA in 1970 with a Bachelors of Arts Degree.
He married Marcia Zubanas May 11, 1991 at The North Island Officers Club, Coronado, CA. They had no children but instead Kodiak and Sedona, their loving Siberian huskies.
Corky had a distinguished career as a fire fighter and fire inspector for the Department of Defense in San Diego, CA and Everett, WA, and also as a teacher. Corky served the community as a volunteer for 15 years on the Camano Island Citizens on Patrol. He was a member of the Camanio Masonic Lodge #19, Stanwood, WA and Men's Senior Tennis, Camano Island.
Corky is survived by his wife Marcia De Laurentis of Camano Island, WA, Brother Scott De Laurentis and wife Sheryl De Laurentis of Bonita, CA, and uncle Rocky De Laurentis of San Diego, CA.
Corky will be remembered for his smile and humor, his kind heart, gentle soul, courageous spirit, devotion to family and love of rugby, football, sailing, athletics, and zest for life.
A memorial celebration will be held at the Camano Center, 606 Arrowhead Rd. Camano Island, WA on Sunday March 4, 2018 from 3:00PM – 5:00PM. All friends and acquaintances are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Northwest Parkinson's Foundation.
