Clyde Willard Jones, 78, of Stanwood, Washington went home to be with our Lord and Savior on May 30th after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Clyde was born in Whittier, NC and later moved to Darrington, Washington where he spent most of his life with his wife of 55 years, Mildred, and their four children.
He worked in the logging industry and owned a shake and shingle mill in Darrington before retiring. He spent many weekends taking his family camping, fishing and horse riding. He always had horses and enjoyed his trips up in the high country with his friends. He and Mildred made many trips by car to North Carolina with all the kids to visit family.
He loved playing with his grandkids and always gave them "green dollars" when they visited to buy a treat with.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, his parents, Jess and Buena Jones, his grandson, Levi, his brother, Felix, and sisters; Naomi Brooks and Annie Sue Dillard.
Clyde will be greatly missed by his children, DeeDee Alfieri (Chuck), Kevin (Kim), Eric (Bryan), Marcia Haldane(Mick) and his grandchildren, Jake, Reiley, Maggie (Jeremiah), Arlo, Anthony, Sage, Keira, Jared, Emily, JD and JR, and his great grandson, Jude and a second great grandchild due in August. His sisters Janet Cabe, Peggy Cooper, Willa Mae Bumgarner, Dora Nations, Dorris Beasly, Cleo Coggins and Jolene Davis, and all their families. He leaves behind many lifelong friends that were very important to him.
A memorial service and celebration of Clyde's life will be held on August 3rd at 2:00 in the Darrington Community Center.
