Clyde Hall went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior at his Stanwood home April 22, 2015 at the age of 89, with his family at his side.
Clyde is predeceased by his parents, brother John R Hall of Richardson, Texas, and grandson Troy Cayford of Stanwood.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife Trude of 60 years. They were married in Santa Barbara, Ca on July 30, 1954. He is lovingly remembered by his children Karen Cayford (Bill), of Stanwood, Brian Hall (Linda), of Irving, Texas, and Lisa Hall of Arlington, Texas, nephew Michael Hall (Sharon) of Fairview, Texas, and grandsons Christopher and Corey Cayford of Stanwood.
Clyde was born in Dallas, Texas on September 12, 1925. He attended Garland High School, exceling in tennis on the state level and later attended SMU. He served in the Navy during WW2, attaining the rank of second class radioman aboard Subchaser, SC-1368. Clyde led the rescue of seven stranded sailors who abandoned the sunken USS Southern Seas, PY-32, during Typhoon Louise at Okinawa's Buckner Bay, October 9, 1945, swimming through the surf with a line to retrieve them from a small island. He kept in touch with his remaining navy buddies through the years.
Clyde was in the missiles and space program for 35 years at Chance-Vought Aircraft, now Lockheed-Martin. When he retired in 1986, he was marketing manager on Oahu. After retiring, Clyde and Trude enjoyed traveling to Europe, Australia, and Israel, the Philippines and Singapore. They saw much of the United States and Canada in their motorhome, finally settling in Stanwood in 2000. Clyde was a member of St Cecilia Catholic Church in Stanwood. Clyde had many friends and will be greatly missed.
