Cliff William Henning passed away peacefully at the farm January 3, 2022 at the age of 73.
Born July 5, 1948 in Everett, Washington to Cliff and Helen Henning. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran in Silvana. Cliff was a lifelong resident of Stanwood, graduating with the class of '66. He continued his education at WSU from 1966-68 and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served from 1969-72 aboard the U.S.S. Springfield. He was a welder and ship fitter. After discharge he continued his education at Pullman, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture in 1975. Cliff was a diehard Coug and happiest wearing his crimson and grey.
His calling brought him back to the family owned "Cliffhaven Jersey Farm" to be a second generation Jersey farmer with his father, Cliff. He ran the farm until his retirement in 2017. He was a lifelong Norman Road resident.
Cliff gave many years of service to the Stanwood-Camano Community. He was a board member for the school district for 13 years, Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation board member, and along with his sisters established a scholarship fund which is given yearly to a graduating senior in memory of his father and mother. Also he gave many years of coaching S.C.J.A.A. sports and volunteering with the (AAAA) Booster Club. Cliff was recognized by the Washington Secondary School Athletic Administrators Association for outstanding service to the Stanwood High School Athletic Program. Keeping farming to heart, Cliff was also active in many Snohomish County and Washington State Dairy Associations in which he served on many boards.
Cliff truly gave of himself, always putting others first. He will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, heart of gold, and loyalty to family and friends. One of his greatest pleasures was hosting friends and hanging out with family at Henning Beach on Camano Island. Highlights also include trips to Arizona to visit Shane and family, his years of working with Brandon on the farm, any time spent with grandkids, scenic drives with friends, his fantasy football league, and entertaining family and friends with Pam.
Cliff is survived by his loving sons Brandon (Kiera) and Shane (Billie) and grandchildren Megan, Kwynlee, Walker, and Sawyer. Devoted partner Pam Fugier and her children Alyssa (Jeff) and Matt (Beth). Cliffie to Lillian, June, Theo, Rosie, Anders, and Bjorn. Sisters Janet Budke (Roger), Kathy Ruckdashel (Dwayne) and their families. Also mother to his boys, Penny Newell, friend and sidekick on the farm Tom Howell, numerous cousins, and a host of friends who loved him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday June 3, 2022 1:00 P.M. at the home of Tom and Kim Nygard. 2932 - 216th St NW Stanwood (Happy Valley Road) Memorials may be made to S.C.A.F. P.O.
