IN LOVING MEMORY OF

April 22, 1932 – February 24, 2025
Charles Paul Ruscha Jr. was the only child born to Charles Paul Ruscha Sr. and Sarah (Sally) Jane Ruscha in Rainier OR. Not long after, the family moved to Washington State making their home on the Puget Sound in Port Orchard. After high school, Chuck served in the US Army for 2 years before attending and graduating from University of Washington. He married Joan (Ingham) Ruscha in 1958 and together they lived in Seattle WA, Tempe AZ, Fresno CA, Kirkland WA, retiring to Camano Island, downsizing to Warm Beach and after her passing in 2022 his final move was to Stanwood, WA.
Chuck had an interest in nature and had a long career as a Meteorologist for NOAA (previously called US Weather Service). Most of his career he was a Weather Forecaster but he talked about specialty jobs he enjoyed within that field including Frost Fruit Forecaster, Wildfire Wind Forecaster, and WA State Climatologist.
Chuck was a devoted husband, married to Joan for 64 years. Together they had six children, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. As a man of faith, he was active at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Kenmore WA and St. Cecelia in Stanwood participating in small faith groups and the St. Vincent de Paul ministry helping people experiencing financial and material need in the community.
After retiring Chuck increased his time with his favorite hobbies; traveling with Joan, hosting family and friend gatherings, camping and hiking, playing tennis, watercolor painting, nature photography, writing family history, watching University of WA Husky football games and taking care of their Camano Island home and property.
