Catherine (Katie) D. Sewell, 82, of Stanwood, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, August 22, 2018.

She was born April 5, 1936 in Monroe, WA to Frank and Dorothy Neisinger. She graduated from Monroe High School.

Katie met Rod Sewell and soon married in September of 1953. Together they owned Monroe Floral for several years.

In 1979 they moved to Stanwood, WA where Katie and Rod worked together to dispatch for the Stanwood/Camano Fire & Medical services. She later also started working at the Stanwood/Camano Medical Center as an officer manager.

She was a member of Camano Chapel for several years and later attended Cedarhome Baptist Church where she really felt at home.

They had two boys, John (Carolyn) and Jim (Jan). From John and Carolyn, she had a granddaughter, Kirsten (Manny), whom she enjoyed baking with and sharing God's love, and great grandson, Cameron, whom she adored and loved watching him grow. Katie also gained two more wonderful granddaughters, Jessica and Amanda, when Jim and Jan married, and later three more great grandchildren Jayden, Maxwell, and Spencer. She really counted herself blessed.

Catherine is preceded in death by her husband, Rod, and sons, Jeffery (whom died at birth) and Jim.

At the family's request there will be no formal funeral service; a private family service has been requested.
