Calvin J. Husby

Calvin J. Husby, age 85, passed away Tuesday night, August 31, 2010, surrounded by his family. Dad was born on November 8, 1924 in Florence, WA to Edward and Mary Husby. He was one of nine children.
His is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Florence "June" Husby; five daughters, Calene (Fred) Curry, Joan (Bill) Young, Edith "Lorie" Argle (Dave), Bonnie Husby (Ron), Mary Kaye "Mick" (Alan) Huffman; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Thelma (Maynard) Christensen, Marion (Bob) Hoag; and brother-in-law, John (Jean) Duncan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and his eldest grandson, Kevin E. Bumgarner.
Dad loved to hunt, garden and travel; go camping with "The Happy Campers" and fish. Dad retired from Buse Timber about 23 years ago. He was a member of the Upper Skagit Tribe of Indians and the Stillaguamish Tribe are our cousins. Dad was a very gentle, loving, caring and giving person. He would do anything for his friends, neighbors and strangers. He never had a bad word to say about anyone.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations are made to your local food bank.
At Dad's request there will not be a funeral. The family plans on celebrating Calvin's life and birthday on November 6 at a location yet to be determined. Calene's number is in the phone book
