Obituary

Brian Timothy Dieffenbach, a kind, fun loving, free spirit passed from this life on May 19, 2021. He was known as a loving father, devoted son, supportive of family and friends who will be dearly missed by all. He was born in Westminster, California to Auverne and Tim on August 22, 1963, a sunny summer day that mirrored his zestfulness his entire life.


Brian moved from California to Washington with his family where he graduated from Stanwood High School. He later moved to Oahu, Hawaii earning a Bachelors Degree at Hawaii Loa University. He married and his daughter, Amanda was born in Hayward, CA where he managed multiple restaurants. He lived and worked in multiple cities in California and Washington before moving back to the Stanwood area where he resided at the time of his passing.

During his childhood he loved to play sports including football, baseball and basketball. As an adult, he was an avid fisherman, loved crabbing off Camano Island, and spending time at the beach. More recently he enjoyed vacationing with his family including daughter Amanda, and his grandchildren Maddox and Madeline. One of Brian's favorite things to do was go to Burning Man with his friends, where they rode around in their infamous "Shark Car," complete with cushion covers and a flag sewn by his mother Auverne. Brian loved music and attended many Grateful Dead concerts over the years.

Brian is survived by his parents, Auverne and Tim Dieffenbach; daughter, Amanda Dieffenbach; grandchildren, Maddox and Madeline; sister, Sandra Orman (Mike Orman); brother Craig Dieffenbach; and nieces, Tiffany Orman and Giovanna Dieffenbach.

Services were held at Gilbertson Funeral Home, with burial at Stanwood Cemetery on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
