Bob Calhoun 80, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2011.
Bob was born May 10, 1931 in Baskin, LA to Ada Davis and James C. Calhoun.
Bob had various jobs in his lifetime. He started as a farmer with his family in Louisiana. He worked in manufacturing and as a pastry chef in Houston, TX. He then joined the U.S.Army and served his time in Seattle and the Allusion Islands.
He joined the Boeing Company while completing his education. His dream was to become and Astro-Physicist. He went to Florida as an assistant count down talker on the minute man program and later as a lead technician on the lunar orbiter program.
Over the years Bob worked for Boeing, Western Gear, Owned his own Service Station, sold Insurance for AAL and in 1991 retired from Boeing as Manufacturing Engineer and Change Management.
Bob is preceded in death by his son Timothy Calhoun, brothers Percy and Hollis Calhoun and daughter-in-law Sherri Miller.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia, son Dennis Calhoun (Rita), step children Debbie Phems (Rick), Michelle Coll (Keith) Kevin Miller, Brian Batterson (Jennifer), daughter-in-law Peggy Calhoun, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He also is survived by his brother Horace Calhoun (Evelyn) sister Gloy Burgis, sister-in-law Loc Calhoun all from Louisiana, his uncle Jennings Davis of Mississippi and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at Camano Lutheran Church on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at 2 P.M. with Pastor Scott Brents officiating.
At Bob's request Memorials may be made to the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, WA
