IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Billy David
Floyd
May 10, 1949 – December 11, 2021
Billy David Floyd, age 72, of Marysville, WA, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021, after living with brain damage and dementia for 10 years.
Bill is survived by his wife of 52 years, Christine Floyd, his 5 children Derek (Julie) Floyd, Melanie Floyd, Laura Floyd-Billingsley, Ben (Nicole) Floyd, Greg (Marwa) Floyd and 8 grandchildren.
He was born on May 10, 1949 in Portland, OR and grew up in Kennewick, WA with his step-dad Harold, Mother Shirley and half brothers Bob, Jeff, Brian and Russell Westfall. He graduated from Kennewick High School in 1967. He earned the nick-name Ding from his mother because of his love of 'dinging' around with his beloved '55 Chevy.
The retail tire business was his choice of career beginning with a part-time job in a local tire shop during high school through college at EWSC in Cheney, WA, nine years with Firestone, and finally retiring with Les Schwab as an owner/operator of Westside Tire in Mount Vernon, WA.
Besides his family and career, Bill's passions were fishing and camping and collecting a myriad of tools, knives, model cars and planes and, of course, fishing gear. He was very
proud to have joined the Catholic Church in 2018. His legacy lives on in many ways, from his sons' love for fishing, family card games, his memorable one-liners and his can-do, think-out-of-the-box attitude. His was a doer. The family will miss his humor, his eagerness to help people and is passion for the things and people he knew and loved.
Donations in his memory can be made to either the Society of St Vincent de Paul, 4200 88th St NE, Marysville, WA 98270 or the Marysville Community Food Bank, 4150 88th St NE, Marysville, WA 98270. Bill served as an eager volunteer for both.
A Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at St Mary's Catholic Church, 4200 88th St NE, Marysville on January 28, 2022, 10:30 a.m.
