IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice Julia
Jacobs
October 7, 1933 – July 29, 2017
Alice Julia Sneve was born October 7, 1933 in Silvana, WA and lived in Silvana for the majority of her life. Alice went home with Jesus, to dance with her beloved husband Don, hold her babies, and reunite with family and many friends on July 29, 2017. She passed peacefully in her sleep at home in the care of her loving and dedicated caregiver Sherry Boone.
Alice graduated from Arlington High School in 1951. She married Donald Lee Jacobs on August 10, 1957 at The Little White Church on the Hill.
Alice was preceded in death by her mother Edna Sneve, father William (Willie) Sneve, infant son Jeffrey Parker Jacobs, one year old daughter Donna Sue Jacobs, husband Donald Lee Jacobs, in laws Lawrence Dean /L.D. (Bud) & Glenna Belle Jacobs, and sister in law Barbara Pulliam Moyer.
She was a long time active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Silvana and a lifetime Guild member of Children's Hospital in Seattle. Her first job was at the Bank of Silvana, then Seafirst Bank in Seattle, she was the bookkeeper for her family owned business Rotten Ralph's in Arlington, and retired from the accounts payable department at Twin City Foods in Stanwood, WA after 26 years.
Alice leaves behind her son David Jacobs (Elaina Koepke), daughter Karalee Kay Jacobs, grandchildren Geoffrey Jacobs (Heather ), Michael Jacobs (Codi Rae), Jessica Jacobs (Forrest Walpole), great grandsons Zayden Jacobs and Finn Jacobs, sister Betty Christoferson, nephews Kenny Jr (Barbara), Brian (Cindy), and Warren Christoferson, Curt (Linda), Chris (Kim) Moyer, nieces Sharon Acuff (Dave), Jeanne Christoferson , Linda Schoen, Coni Moyer, and a large extended family.
Many were blessed by her loyal friendship and unconditional love. While there are too many to list, we mention those closest to her over the years : Caregivers Sherry Boone (DJ, Meli, Ru, & Melina), Donna Clarke, Tisha Casebier, Susan (Leeside Manor), Kayci Cooper, Gigi, Angie McCauley, Robin (Nurse) & Ken Sather, Jodi (Winco/Wine Wednesdays) & Mike Smythe, Chris & Carlo Cecchetto, Andrea and Richard Finafrock, Nancy Richards, Darren Conn, Amy Mailloux, Bonnie Fuentes, Mary Fuentes, PLC Youth Group, Allen Backstrom, Darren Knowles (referral to April House – Robin, Virginia & Cora), and Jennifer Jones (RDAD study).
Alice was passionate about church, music, the arts, travel, nature, wine, and football (especially her Huskies). Her greatest joy in life was time spent with family and friends. She had a smile for everyone she met and a distinctive giggle that was infectious. She enjoyed 26 years of watching the Pacific Northwest Ballet, many years of the EPA in Everett, the Mount Baker Theatre with friends Terry & Renee Dawn, Civic Music in Everett, and various musicals and operas in Seattle. Locally, she would listen to Don Mailloux sing (Shay & Diane too) with close friends and often would hear a personal dedication. She was known to get up and dance even when there wasn't a dance floor. She attended countless Arts & Crafts Fairs and rarely missed the Anacortes and Coupeville Arts & Crafts events over the years. It was not uncommon for her to run out of "trunk space" for all her treasures. Among her travels she found herself in Cuba (when Castro took over), Florida, Hawaii, Mexico, California, Canada, New Mexico (for Zozobra & cave climbing), Reno & Las Vegas with dear friends, and the Oregon coast (Cannon Beach was her favorite). An innocent trip to Prosser for a Twin City Foods baseball tournament led to her discovery of wine and wineries. Since then she enjoyed visiting numerous wineries with family and friends, including Walla Walla and the Lake Chelan/Manson area. Cases of wine would make it safely home with the help of seat belts and air conditioning. For 37 years she was an avid Husky football fan and season ticket holder. She prized her signed Jake Locker jersey and wore it with pride. The fans around her became like family and she was happy to see them every season.
