Alice Elizabeth (Malmquist) Fenner, beloved wife and mother, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday October 9, 2012. She was 84 and died peacefully in her sleep at home with her husband, Tom Fenner, at her side.
Alice was born October 7, 1928 to Axel and Thea Swenson in Grenora, North Dakota. She was married to (deceased) Weldon Malmquist and had three sons. She remarried and she and her husband, Tom, moved to Camano Island 22 years ago. They have alternated their winter and summer months residing in Surprise, Arizona during winter and spending summers at their home on Camano Island where they enjoyed a grand view of the Cascade Mountains and Port Susan Bay. Tom and Alice married in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho in November 1970.
She was a program manager for an aerospace company during her career. It was during that time she met and married her current husband. With Tom, she traveled extensively and was active in the Camano Island community. The family matriarch, she was a vivacious and active individual with a hearty love of life and all that it had to offer. A talented seamstress, she also practiced line dancing and craft work for the Camano Island community where she devoted countless hours working for the Camano Country Club.
Alice is preceded in death by her former husband, Weldon, son Gary, and step-daughter Melodie Henry. She is survived by her husband Thomas H. Fenner, two children, Alan Malmquist of Santee, CA, Steven Malmquist of Florida, two step-children, Mark Fenner of Edmonds, Leah Strong of Stanwood, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
