Albert Keith Anderson
Albert "Keith" Anderson, 90, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at his residence in Everett. Private family services will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood, Washington.
Keith was born September 25, 1925 in Portland, Oregon, the son of Eleanor and Albert Anderson. He lived in Havre, Montana until his father's death in 1936. His mother moved Keith and his sisters, Polly and Margie, to Weiser, Idaho to be near her mother following her husband's death.
Keith served his country in World War II, enlisting in the Navy in 1943, serving on ships in the Pacific near and around Japan. Following his discharge in 1946, Keith returned to Weiser and in 1947 married Beverly Jean Gish. They lived and worked in Weiser for several years where Keith also served as a Volunteer Fireman. They relocated to Boise, Idaho in the early 1950's when Keith was hired by Albertsons as a meat cutter. In the late 1950's the family moved to Pocatello, Idaho where Keith managed the meat market for Albertsons. The family relocated to Everett, Washington in 1968 and Keith and Beverly divorced in 1972. Keith continued working as a meat cutter for Safeway in Everett, Portland, Oregon, and Los Angeles, California until his retirement. Following his retirement, Keith worked as a security officer at the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California for several years and then received certification as a massage therapist and worked at a Health Club in Arcadia, California. In 2001, Keith who had remarried, lost his wife, Josephine, to cancer and relocated to Washington to be near family.
Keith loved music and singing. He volunteered and provided entertainment to residents at the Lincoln Senior Housing Center where he lived for several years. He was active in a men's singing group in the Stanwood area. He also volunteered as a massage therapist and reflexologist to his senior friends and acquaintances at the Lincoln Senior Housing Center.
Keith is survived by four daughters, Claudia Kusulos, Sally Anderson, Heidi (Nick) Calley, and Robin Anderson, nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his younger sister, Margie Belford of Nevada.
